2008 Scholarship Winner

Once again, congratulations goes out to Tyler. Below is a small autobiography.

"Education has always been a high priority of mine; while searching for universities across Wisconsin I knew UW-Madison was my best option. Though one of the more expensive universities, I knew this Big Ten college would provide me with the education needed to succeed following graduation. I am very grateful for opportunities such as this to aid me with the many financial burdens that come along with pursuing a degree. I am currently a junior looking to double major in both Political Science and Consumer Science. I have always been fascinated with the political process and have always had an interest for the field of finance. Following graduation, I would like to move to Chicago, IL and pursue a career while possibly obtaining my MBA.

Though I have been most fortunate to come from a background that enables me to attend a university such as this, my financial situation still is not the best. I have come across many individuals who upon graduating will be sitting on tens of thousands of dollars of debt. Like many students, the majority of my school funding is obtained through federal and alternative student loans, all of which need to be repaid. Scholarships such as this really help ease this financial burden and make it easier for both my family and myself; I am very grateful to be the recipient of this scholarship award."
