Maine State Grant Program (MSGP) - The Maine State Grant Program is a need-based state grant awarded to undergraduate students who are Maine residents. The only application needed to apply for the Maine State Grant Program is the FAFSA. To be eligible for an award under the Maine State Grant Program, the Federal Processing Center must receive your FAFSA by May 1. This deadline is critical. If eligible, you will be notified by the Financial Aid Office. Awards are as follows:
1. In-State Public Institutions $1,000 (for full-time study)
2. Out-of-State Public Institutions $500 (for full-time study)
3. In-State Private Institutions $1,250 (for full-time study)
4. Out-of-State Private Institutions $1,000 (for full-time study)
A limited number of grants for part-time study are available.
In order to be eligible for an out-of-state private or public Maine State Grant Program grant, you must be a Maine resident, attending a higher education institutions in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania or the District of Columbia.
