Montana Financial Aid

Access Grant Program - SAF's Access Grant Program provides money ($500-$5,000 each) to eligible students encountering financial barriers that interfere with their access to post secondary education. $350,000 is delivered annually through the general scholarship fund of all eligible Montana post secondary schools that applied to participate. The money is distributed directly to students through each school’s financial aid department.

 

MHEG- Montana Higher Education Grant - To qualify for this grant, the student must have exceptional financial need. The amount of the award is determined by the School. On average the amount awarded is $500. This program is funded by the state of Montana and is matched with Federal funds.

MTAP - Montana Tuition Assistance Program/Baker Grant -
The Baker, or MTAP, Grant is available for Montana residents who have earnings greater than $2575 and an EFC between 0 and 6500 and whose parent(s) or dependent(s) are Montana residents. This is also a limited fund, so early application is essential. The range for the MTAP/Baker Grant is between $100 and $1000.
