| Gift Aid |
| Gift aid is financial aid for school that you do not have to pay back at anytime. Aid that falls into this category are scholarships, grants, and some campus or state base financial aid. Most schools require you to inform the school if you receive this type of aid because it might affect what the school gives you. For example, a student wins a $5000 scholarship for school that is paid directly to the student, if this same student is already receiving a full Pell grant from their institution, then the student would actually make money. It is very rare that a organization that would give you money for school, would send the funds directly to the student. |
